Creating Enchantment with Charming Tiny White Houses: A Winter Decorating Adventure

Hello, my festive friends! Can you believe it's already November 1st? Time flies. And yes, I'm here to confess that I've already been daydreaming about Christmas decorations. Who can blame me, though? Those adorable ceramic house displays are impossible to resist!

Sign reads " It's the most wonderful time of the year" in front of that is four tiny white houses.

If you're considering adding these charming little white houses to your holiday decor, then this blog post is custom-made for you. Over the years, my collection of these delightful decorations has grown, and they've often turned into heartwarming gifts. Today, I'm excited to share how I've showcased my collection and express my deep admiration for these cute little wonders.

Instead of settling for just one or two ceramic houses, I've transformed them into an enchanting village by grouping several. To add that extra touch of winter magic, I've even placed them on cake dishes with epson salts as glittering fake snow! Sometimes, a couple of tiny white houses look adorable side by side. The best part? You can leave these winter displays up well into spring. I've even used them in my decor for the July 4th celebrations!

Now, here's a little secret I'll let you in on. I first fell in love with these charming tiny white houses when I saw them at Pottery Barn. But if you're like me and prefer a more budget-friendly approach, DIY is the way to go! I've found a few at Walmart, spray-painted with at least three coats of Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2x ultra cover semi-gloss white and sprinkled epson salts on the rooftops to create a delightful snow effect. You'd be surprised how many gems you can uncover at thrift stores or HomeGoods as well. And remember, it's always a great idea to match the original color with a fresh coat of paint.

To make your miniature village truly magical, add tiny fairy lights, which you can easily find on Amazon. These lights transform the whole village into a twinkling wonderland at night. To complete the winter scene, add a base layer of epson salts for your tiny houses to rest upon as snowy ground (trust me, it smells fantastic if you pick up the eucalyptus-scented kind)!

Believe it or not, these charming tiny white houses have inspired this year's holiday cards for Beanie + Paige and Holiday Creative. I keep my collection on display in my studio throughout the other months of the year because, let's be honest, they're just too cute to be hidden away.

So, as you embark on your winter decorating journey, consider adding a touch of enchantment with these adorable tiny white houses. Whether creating your DIY village or finding them in stores, they will bring joy and whimsy to your holiday decor. Wishing you a season filled with wonder and warmth as you embark on your creative journey! - Heidi
